New UKBA transitional arrangements for earned citizenship.

On Wednesday, 23rd September 2009 the UKBA announced transitional arrangements for earned citizenship.

The UKBA today announced their transitional arrangements for earned citizenship. They have also announced that their earned citizenship route will not commerce now until 2011.

New Government Resident Labour Changes...

The UK Government announced a raft of new measures to ensure that the resident labour market will have every opportunity to fill vacanies before they are offered to workers from abroad.

The main changes are:

From next year all jobs must be advertised to the resident job market for 4 weeks in the jobcentreplus instead of the current 2 weeks before a company can advertise the position overseas

Overseas workers who want to transfer to work for their company's UK base will now need to have worked for the firm for at least 1 year instead of the current 6 months

The minimum salary for a worker to qualify has a skilled worker will increase to £20,000 from £17,000

UKBA Change Age Requirements...

On the 21 August the UKBA published it revised guidance on the age requirements for husbands, wives and civil partners under the points based system.

This means that now all husbands, wives and civil partners of a PBS applicant will have to be 18 years old and over on the date of arrival in the UK in order to be allowed into the UK.

The main applicant will also need to be 18 years old or over.
